Architectural Association (Architecture)
No matter how difficult you think your class, upcoming test, or university application might be, I am here to help and support you and make the learning curve more enjoyable and manageable. I am a patient tutor and will take you step by step to help you understand your errors or ways in which to improve strategically. I particularly empathize with students who struggle with test anxiety as I used to be one of them. As a result it is important to me that my teaching not only helps students achieve their goals but also gives them the confidence they need in the long run.
I graduated from my bachelors degree in Architecture in London last summer and have moved out to LA for work. My studies while being very artistic and design-based opened up my interest to creative writing and thinking. I began to proofread and edit writing for friends: drawing me into the field of tutoring. As a result I have been tutoring students for 2 years in Europe. In the past I have helped and shadowed students in french, english, art and university applications. Given I am bilingual French/English, I am able and happy to help students with writing, grammar and literature in both languages.
I also enjoy helping students on preparing their college applications, including the crucial personal statement. I am also happy to support students in weighing out their options for college and making a decision as to which direction to pursue. For students wishing to apply to art/design related schools, I would be thrilled to help assemble your work into a sharp and high quality portfolio. Finally for IB students who need help with TOK essays or Extended Essays (in English A, French A or Arts) I am happy to support and guide them in the research process and writing.
Never hesitate to contact me when you are struggling and need a little push. I am here to help and get you where you want to be. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
