I am a graduate student finishing up my PhD at UC-Irvine in Visual Studies, an interdisciplinary program that combines Art History and Film and Media Studies. I hold a Master’s Degree in Art History, Theory, and Criticism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
I have been educating undergrads for the last 6 years in both Art History and Film/Media Studies. I have taught Art History survey courses numerous times and am well equipped to aid in AP Art History test prep. This past semester I taught a freshman writing seminar and have honed a wide variety of pedagogical tools for improving writing. I also have teaching and research expertise in 20th Century American History and the histories of design and architecture.
In every class, professor and student alike engage in shared intellectual labor. In my teaching, I see myself as a facilitator, collaborator, and guide. I always look forward to my work with students in office hours to work on their writing or clarify things before an exam. In their evaluations, my students report that I am very approachable and succeed in clarifying complex course material. I have had the honor of mentoring several undergrads as they prepare their senior projects.
I can help you prepare for exams, work on research papers, improve your writing, develop note-taking and study skills, and more! I really look forward to working with you to meet your educational goals!
My research focuses on 20th century American political life with a focus on the Cold War. Helping everyone understand the our nation's recent history is one of my passions!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have designed and taught an upper division undergraduate course on the History of Architecture. My extensive dissertation research deals directly with 20th Century Architecture. One of my qualifying exams for my PhD was in California Modernism.
