About Tracie

Tracie S. was born and raised in East Los Angeles California, a predominantly working class Mexican and Mexican- American community. Throughout her academic and professional career Tracie remained involved in a number of social justice based research projects and outreach programs that address racial campus climate, post-secondary access and retention among historically underrepresented community college students. Tracie is proud to be a product of the California community college system and a Double Bruin as she earned her bachelor's in Chicano Studies, Gender Studies, Education Studies and later her master’s degree in Higher Education and Organizational Change from the University of California Los Angeles.

During her free time Tracie enjoys spending time outdoors with her 3 year old boxer named Bruno, exercising at the gym, traveling to Mexico, learning about natural remedies, reading autobiographies, and cooking.


Tracie enjoys teaching college prep courses, undergraduate research, k-12 writing, sociology, gender studies, ethnic studies, history, public speaking, how to prepare for an interview, college personal statement writing, scholarship essay writing and leading intergroup dialogue workshops.

With over 5 years of working experience in both K-12 and higher education settings, Tracie understands all students have unique needs and learning styles . Tracie is patient and funny and takes pride in being consistent and dedicated to her clients.
