About Sarah

I have a lot of experience teaching and tutoring. I taught French for 3 years at UCLA and I created short documentary films. I have lived abroad in Paris for 3 years and I attended a prestigious school called Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris.

In addition, I taught English classes abroad in Paris. Specifically, when I taught in Paris, I was teaching 19 classes a week from age 5 to 11. This was very challenging because I had to come up with lessons for 19 classes a week all entirely in English. I found songs on Youtube, created games, and made my own worksheets with drawings. Instead of using standard English language books or cds, I always adapted my lessons in a way that I thought would be fun and exciting for the students.

I have lots of experience writing as I pursued my Master's in French, but I wrote my papers mostly in English. I was a very strong student in English in high school and college, receiving an A in all my English and Literature classes.

I was a TA of a film class, and I taught one film class at UCLA. I have written many papers on film. I also corrected and edited many papers on film.

I am very enthusiastic, patient and outgoing. I always do my best to help when I see a student struggling.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
