Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Career Development

I have taught the course Career Management for several years. I teach students the proper way to write cover letters and resumes. I also help prepare students for interviews by conducting mock interviews. Another area that I teach within career management is career development tools, i.e. additional training that may be required, networking, public speaking, etc.

Criminal Justice

I graduated from law school with a Juris Doctor degree in 1999. I am proficient in instructing several different courses within the criminal justice curriculum. I have taught over 24 different criminal justice courses for over five years at the college level. I also have a high performance rate for the ability to assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations by equipping them with pertinent resources and knowledge in the field of criminal justice.

Public Speaking

I am a former member of Toastmasters. I have incorporated public speaking as a part of my course teaching for the last five years. I assist students in overcoming the fear of public speaking, how to prepare for a presentation, how to deliver a presentation, and how to entertain an audience during a presentation.
