In 2006, I began my teaching career as an art teacher and administrator at an arts program for adults with developmental disabilities. After many years in this field I went back to school for my Master's with an eye on teaching art at the college level. In 2006, I began my teaching career as an art teacher and administrator at an arts program for adults with developmental disabilities. After many years in this field I went back to school for my Master's with an eye on teaching art at the college level. I started tutoring with Wyzant at the beginning of grad school and received my MFA in 2018.

Developing from my experience working with a variety of people with differing learning styles, my teaching style is very focused on the individual I am working with. We follow their path of interest and I make sure to cover the fundamentals of the subject and adapt the content to their educational needs.

I have a basic drawing course that I've developed combining exercises from "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" [Betty Edwards], "Making Comics" [Lynda Barry], and The Virtual Instructor [Matt Fussell].

I'd be happy to share my lesson book with you and talk about what we do in art lessons.

Excellent tutor who goes above and beyond

We asked Karim to help our 9-year-old son to develop his overall drawing skills and encourage him to enjoy doing art. He had been working with Alex for the past 8monghts. Our son really enjoys his lessons with Karim. He is patient, kind, efficient, and knowledgeable, and he answers all his questions. He has been introducing him various techniques that he is so excited to use and teach me after the session. We look forward to more sessions with him!

Tutor responded:

Thank you Amanda for supporting him in his lessons. I was impressed early on with the fact that he often does extra practice at home. The progress he is showing speaks to this dedication, thanks to you.

The greatest tutor :)

Karim definitely teaches me how to use the adobe tools and it’s definitely helping me to understand it’s tools in photoshop and he is definitely telling me what to do and guiding me.

Best tutor

We love Karim’s way of teaching. He is diligent and motivating and always works patiently with my daughter to teach her all aspects of the art form. She has learnt so much and has improved a lot from when she started. Absolutely will recommend him to everyone who is interested in learning art. Thanks Karim
