I majored in English at Tufts University where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Highest Thesis Honors. I have a Masters in English from USC and am finishing a PhD in English there. I have created, designed, and taught numerous college writing and literature courses, so I know EXACTLY what many teachers are looking for.
I have worked at other tutoring companies, test prep companies, and colleges. I know all the ins and outs of the tutoring world, working in curriculum design, tutor training, and, of course, on the other end of the classroom. As a writing professor, I know what teachers are looking for, both in high school and college. I have many friends in admissions and know what they're looking for as well.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Writing 140 (Introduction to Composition and Critical Reasoning), CORE 111 (Honors Intro to Comp paired with a survey course on Western Lit), and CORE 112 (Honors Advanced Composition and Thematic Literature course).
