University of Minnesota, Duluth (Mandarin Chinese Lit)
The People's University of China (Master's)
My name is Cutler and I am a 27 year old Mandarin Chinese and Filipino Martial Arts Teacher. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Asian Languages and Literature with a concentration in Mandarin Chinese. I then went on to do my Master's degree in Modern Chinese Literature at the The People's University of China. All of my classes were in Chinese and I wrote my thesis in Chinese on the famous Chinese author Wang Shuo.
I list my degrees as evidence of the level of fluency I have achieved as a foreigner. But more important then ME knowing Chinese, I have the skills to teach YOU how to learn Mandarin which literally means "the people's language". Besides helping you develop fluency your fluency in Mandarin Chinese I can also teach you good learning methods and habits to learn for yourself. In addition I can teach you about the history and culture of the Chinese language.
I have several years experience teaching English in China. I am confident in my abilities to help you learn mandarin Chinese. The same methods basically apply to any language. This will ultimately save you time and money.
In addition to Mandarin I also am certified to teach a stick and knife fighting martial art and self defense system called B'ahad Z'ubu Eskrima. It is a great work out and lots of fun. It's also suitable for self defense.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in learning Mandarin or Martial Arts or Both! Hello!
