Rowan University (Theatre Arts)
My name is Mandie, I am a graduate from Rowan University with a major in Theatre Arts. My degree required me to learn Acting/Directing, Stagecraft, Costume Design, Theatre History, Speech, and many more. While at Rowan I have also taken classes such as Film Noir, Screenwriting, Women in Literature as well. Rowan University has an excellent program and has helped me learn all types of theatre. I am also in the process of receiving my teaching certificate. I passed the Praxis II in one shot, which I was thrilled to see. :)
A little about me now, I am very passionate about theatre and literature. I have taken many classes that required critical thinking and heavy writing assignments. Now that I am no longer in school, I miss writing a paper or two. In fact, I have been thinking about possibly going back to school for Theatre History and Theory. While my degree was in Theatre, I have a strong knowledge of Screenwriting. This was my original major at a school out in Los Angeles, California. However, between my financial responsibility to myself and wanting to go back for theatre, I transferred. But I made sure to take as many film classes as I could while at Rowan. So if dialogue is your dilemma, I'm your girl! :)
Working together, I will create an atmosphere that is comfortable and exciting. If you need help with a paper, I am more than efficient with explaining and help figuring out information that works. I love creating a dramatic and catchy opening for papers. But if you also need help with public speaking, auditions, scene work, etc I would LOVE to help you get it to performance quality. I believe to become a great performer, messing up is the first step. So as an instructor I encourage mess ups! I want you to start over and over again. That way, when time comes you will be so comfortable with what you need to say/perform that it won't affect you the same way it might have in the past. If you need to submit a video audition, I would be more than happy to bring my camera and help! Hello Everyone!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
