Music has always been an important part of my life. I knew from childhood that I wanted to play an instrument. Wherever I went, if there was an instrument laying around, I was playing it! I started playing guitar at age six, picked up bass guitar at fourteen, and a few years later I was doing gigs (live music performances) around town. I currently play bass guitar for my church and have played for various jazz, gospel, rock, funk, and soul bands within in Los Angeles area.
My bass playing is inspired by many great bassists such as Anthony Jackson, Louis Johnson,Geddy Lee, and Verdine White as well as other instrumentalists. My method of instruction is based on what inspires you (the student). For beginners, I start with the instrument itself; learning all the parts and what they do. Then I use a fun song based approach to teach the theory for bass guitar. Most students want to start playing songs as soon as possible and I'm all for it because...it works! There's nothing like being a musician and being a bass player is as good as it gets! Let's start the journey!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
