I am a 36 years old Italian teacher from Rome, and a native of Tuscany (the cradle of Italian language - you don't wanna end up having a southern or northern accent do you?), with a Master's degree in Italian and American Literature, and a published author and screenwriter.
I was trained as a teacher at Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Rome, the best in town (the one featured in Eat Pray Love. :-) ) according to the latest Inductive Grammar method, where I got 100 hours' teaching experience.
What is the Inductive Grammar method? Well grammar may be approached in two main ways, deductively, where students are given a rule which they then practice (that is, they work using other people's deductions about the language) and inductively, where they work out rules for themselves. Inductive grammar teaching is useful for a number of reasons. It can involve the students more fully as thinking people with ideas of their own and thus increase motivation. It can involve them more fully in understanding the language as they work out different rules for forming and using Italian.
I am a very patient teacher but I'll make sure that you make progress. In the first lesson we will assess your level and then move from there to make you reach the next level.
I am looking forward to meeting you soon!

I had three weeks before I had to leave to Italy for work, and really wanted to learn the basics to be able to get around easier and fit in faster. I had several sessions with Giorgio, during which we only spoke Italian (I knew nothing). I sincerely believe that the only way to truly and quickly learn the language is to push yourself and speak it (even if you only know 5 words). And Giorgio is the perfect tutor to help you with that .
No matter how awkward and strange it sounds, you have to speak it, not spend hours writing grammar exercises, (but that too, later, unfortunately). New words and structures get into your memory the quickest and for the longest this way. It was very fun and interesting, indeed!!
Giorgio guided me through the grammar and new vocabulary swiftly. It was always exciting and I felt myself making progress every time we met. I strongly recommend him for everyone who really wants to learn the language effectively and naturally. And well, Giorgio's company just as the Italian language is a pleasure.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
