U.C.L.A. (French Literature)
I have been a French and ESL teacher at all levels for many years in Los Angeles. I am credentialed with the State of California. I employ a variety of techniques to facilitate language learning. I also have hundreds of web based lessons for remote learning as well as PowerPoint lessons for review. My teaching style is to emphasize communication in a step by step manner.
As an example, when I teach a unit on learning animals in French, the lesson is visual based to learn the basic vocabulary. Then, I proceed to use the vocabulary in a meaningful way to reinforce learning. For example, we may create sentences to describe the habitat or eating habits of the animal or a popular saying involving the animal like "Hungry as a horse." I may also supplement the lesson with a song or crossword puzzle that has a theme of animals.

I will reduce my hourly rate if student will receive 1 1/2 hour lesson... the rate will be $34 / hour
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
