I am thrilled with Susan and the positive results I have noticed in the short time she has been working with my daughter. Susan is very kind, thoughtful and engaging. She has made learning fun for my daughter, and has given her confidence in her spelling and reading. She teaches her different ways of doing things, and explains why words and letter combinations make the sounds they do. Susan knows of my daughter's love for animals. She makes each lesson fun and develops it around her interests, which in turn makes her excited for her next session.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
