About Larry

I am a veteran teacher and tutor with National Board Certification in teaching English as a Second Language. I have taught ESL, English, and Psychology (including Honors and AP courses) for a number of years. I hold a master's degree in bilingual education.

I am now employed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) as an evaluator. In addition to private tutoring, I teach an SAT Prep class at the Los Angeles STEM Academy

I am eager to help adult and secondary students who are looking for individual instruction from a compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated teacher.

Contact me if you are ready to dedicate yourself to improving your command of English -- grammar, writing, reading comprehension and conversation. I can also help students prepare for SAT, ACT and AP exams.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Very perceptive and patient — Larry understands what motivates students and is very responsive to their specific needs. He is patient and very knowledgeable. He helped my son to organize his thoughts and create and stick with a schedule to complete his research paper. He made my son proud to have done great work and complete it early.
