I'm Mallory, and I really, REALLY like economics.
I also have a good deal of experience tutoring. As an economics Ph.D. student, I understand all levels of economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, as well as several specialized fields: industrial organization, game theory, time series analysis, asset pricing, and others. My greatest strength is in game theory - I can teach you both the intuition and the math behind it.
I'm also a strong writer, and particularly, an excellent editor. I have helped many students get their best voice on paper, for school essays, college applications, resumes/cover letters, etc. I can help you feel confident in your writing, even under test conditions.
I'm American, a native English speaker, and a member of Toastmasters (a public speaking organization). I love explaining the same concept in different ways, until I find the one that clicks for my students. I'm Mallory, and I really, REALLY like economics.

Mallory has helped me be prepared for my economic test. She helps me understand key concepts as well as specific details.
Mallory helped me understand topics I didn't think I would ever fully grasp. She works at a great pace and is very helpful!
Mallory is a very knowledgeable Economics tutor. She takes the time to explain the subject matter thoroughly, and makes sure I have a clear understanding of all work we review.
My daughter is taking her first on line college class in Microeconomics and was having problems with some of the concepts. After just a couple of sessions, Mallory had my daughter caught up and ready to take her midterm. My daughter did very well on her midterm, exceeding my expectations. Mallory will continue to tutor until the final exam, to help ensure a great grade. Mallory is patient and able to teach the material in a way that my daughter understands. I'm glad to have found a tutor with whom my daughter is comfortable working. The scheduling was a little difficult at first due to everyone's busy schedules, but we were able to find a time that worked well for everyone.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm an economics Ph.D. student, so I have taken quite a bit of econometrics - as an undergrad at UCLA, plus 4 courses in graduate school. I have also tutored several undergrads in econometrics, with good results. As a researcher, I use econometric methods regularly, so I can explain application as well as theory.
I'm in the second year of my Ph.D. in economics. In addition to tutoring undergraduates and my graduate-level peers, I have also been a TA for the early economics courses. As a result, I know the common pitfalls of learning economics, and how to avoid them.
I have been editing in my spare time since I was in high school. Back then (over 10 years ago!), I helped teachers edit essays for extra cash. Since then, I have provided my editing services in many professional positions as well as to my peers in graduate school. I love reading and writing, and nothing makes me happier than helping someone perfectly express their thoughts.
