Amsterdam School of the Arts
My first language is Dutch. I grew up in Holland and followed my passion in dance. I graduated from the Amsterdam dance academy and moved to the United States where I taught at Mills college (Oakland) and worked as a resident artist for an arts organization in San Francisco, teaching at public schools for 5 years. I love teaching different age groups, from either preschoolers to 3rd grade, middle or high school to college students and adults. My best quality is the joy I bring and enthusiasm with an enormous ability to demonstrate technique with clarity and patience.
I went back to school in the Bay Area to learn webdesign and acquired computer science and web production skills. I received certifications through Vista College and have been working as a freelance web designer for 8 years. Currently I work for a magazine publishing company as a web production artist. I have excellent skills and experience in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML, CSS and frontend web design.
As a native speaker in Dutch, I translate Dutch to English for online clients, I speak, read and think in Dutch at home, which eases my longing for Dutch windmill cookies and winter ice skating. Learning Dutch is not easy and I can help you with grammar and sentence structure. I can teach you basic to advanced conversation skills and will inspire you to ride a bike on the cobblestone streets in Amsterdam.

Tedje is very knowledgeable, I highly recommend her for helping to create a website or in updating and maintaining one.
Tedje was great. I joined a Dutch Club and have been wanting to learn a little bit of Dutch. She provided a few key phrases that I should know, and sure enough, at our next party I was able to interact with people. Boy were they surprised when I started greeting them in Dutch! She speaks fluent, natural Dutch.
Thank you for listing Tedje. She helped me solve a challenge with Dreamweaver, that took hours of precious study time, until she solved the problem in a few minutes. Just a note to anyone taking an online webdesign class- plan on having this tutor. Tedje is great! Be encouraged.
I had a great tutorial with Tedje and learned all that I was hoping to in the session that we had! I highly recommend her! She is knowledgeable and professional and easy to work with! Thank you for a wonderful experience! I will recommend Tedje, and I will recommend Wyzant!
I am learning Dutch for work and Tedje is helping me become more efficient in learning. She is very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to customize my lessons to cater with my work lingo. I enjoy our weekly lessons very much and look forward to having a full conversation with her in Dutch in the near future.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
