I graduated from Yale University with a BA in Art and continued to earn my Master's in Performance Design in London. During this time, I not only honed my skills as an artist and designer, I took courses in math, literature, English, history, art history, and the social sciences to supplement my interests.
I have taught students in math, English, art and stop-motion animation. I've also been an assistant teacher for art classes, mentored high school students on their path to entering college, and helped with SAT preparation, college application essays, and art portfolios. My favorite subjects to tutor are English and writing in any form. There is nothing I love more than helping students develop a love and respect for reading and expressing themselves through writing - skills I believe are invaluable for any path to success.

The instructor is very cooperative and helpful to match with our schedule. The instructor has high standards for achievement of improving the student's current skill. Typically the instructor encourages the student to raise questions or make comments and she as been an effective teacher to stimulate the student's motivation to study new knowledge.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took private drawing/painting classes from age 8 until 18. I then took many drawing courses as an art major at Yale. My experience involves everything from traditional observational and figure drawing classes, to creative color drawing classes and more abstract techniques. I have been teaching assistant to drawing students age 5-12.

I love helping students develop a passion for reading through a deep and meaningful understanding of what they read. I took private painting lessons from age 11-18. I then majored in studio art with a concentration in painting from Yale University, from which I graduated with distinction in the major. I have experience in working with watercolor, acrylic and oil and in both realistic observational and more abstract painting techniques. I especially love to help students develop their own voice and style through their use of paint.
I have a Master's in Performance Design and Practice from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, UK. There, I studied methods of developing a play or performance piece from writing to directing to designing. As an undergraduate at Yale, I took literature and theatre studies courses, which taught me to read plays closely to understand their themes, meanings and develop them from page to stage.
