California State University Northridge, CSUN (Music)
Hello! My name is Megan! I hold an undergraduate degree in Music with an emphasis in Piano from a school in Southern California. I teach piano, music theory, musicianship, songwriting, psychology, English, and math. I've taught all ages and levels of experience.
Music, first and foremost, is my profession. I've played piano for over ten years, and have performed at recitals and for Certificate of Merit yearly. Music majors are required to be proficient in Musicianship, Music Theory, Music History, and performance. With my education and experience, I know what musicians need to make it through their degrees and in the music business.
I also tutor English, Math, and Psychology. In Math, I took up to Calculus in high school and have a natural ease with the subject. Whenever the opportunity, I love showing others how math can be enjoyable and easy to learn with good foundations. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding what I do and how I can help you with your tutoring needs. Hello! My name is Megan! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I can tutor in ear training. I took two years of musicianship classes training students how to sight-sing, play basic piano progressions, and recognize intervals, chords, and tonality by ear.
