I've been playing violin for over 20 years, and have taught at summer camps and given private lessons during that time. I graduated from Manhattan School of Music's Pre-College division, attending the University of Southern California as a film major. I continued to study on my own during my undergraduate years while participating in chamber music with groups every semester. I'm a current member of the American String Teacher's Association, and I'm very open to teaching beginner and intermediate levels of violin, at any age.
My teaching experience was gathered mainly at a string-instrument summer camp, teaching ages 5-13. They came from all methods, from Suzuki to advanced pedagogy. Some had studied under the same teachers that I have. I've studied with Sally Thomas of the Julliard School, as well as Alejandro Mendoza, Anat Malkin-Almani, Ella Rutkovsky of the Manhattan School of Music, and Igor Frolov of the Moscow Conservatory. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have almost 20 years of experience as a violinist, as well as teaching experience through summer camps. I studied at the Manhattan School of Music, pre-college division.
