“Greg is a gifted teacher with an exceptional ability to connect with people and particularly, kids. He has that unusual combination of absolute fluency with the subject matter, ability to customize the teaching approach to the individual student's needs, and overlaying it all, on a human level he is a great support and ally for his students. Other parents I have spoken with whose kids have worked with Greg have had an equally positive experience. I feel very fortunate to have found him.”

My daughter really likes Greg. He is really an expert in chemistry and really knows what is going on in the high school chemistry curriculum. His help is really perfect.
Greg continues to be outstanding. My daughter's grade has really improved. I highly recommend him!
Greg met with our daughter to help her with Chem, a subject that she had been struggling with. During their first session, a light bulb went off in her head, and she started to believe she could master the material. A few sessions later, this collaboration has built on that moment with our daughter gaining more and more confidence and competence.
I hired Greg originally to help my son prepare for his finals in biology. Greg was very good and patient and good at helping my son organize and understand all the concepts and areas he needed help in. Greg gave my son great confidence and interest in the subject matter. I wish I had him from the beginning!of the year! I would highly recommend Greg.
Greg has been tutoring me through my college chemistry series. I recommend Greg for anyone who struggles in chemistry. He is patient, easygoing, and very helpful. I've struggled with school my whole life and have dyslexia and ADHD. With the help of Greg, I've been able to break down the basic concepts of one of the hardest college courses. I've earned an A in General Chem 1 and 2 with the help of Greg, and he is currently tutoring me through Organic Chemistry. I would recommend him to anyone.
Greg has done an excellent job in working with my daughter in Chemistry. He explains the material very well, makes sure she understands it, and she is able to retain the information for tests. The sessions go by very quickly for her. His review of her labs and homework is accurate and complete. Thanks Greg!
Gregory is very knowledgeable in chemistry. He helped my son prepare for his Honors Chemistry tests. He not only connected with my son but he also really helped him understand the material. He is an excellent representative for this tutoring service.
Greg has helped my child's test scores improve. He is very positive and helps build confidence in his students. Greg is an excellent choice for a tutor.
Greg was great. I had a hard time with some chemistry concepts and he met with me within a day or two after contacting him. We went over my recent exam, and he outlined a work plan so I could improve on my own until the next test or when I next saw him. I highly recommend him!
Greg helped me prepare for my college chemistry class. He is extremely patient and knowledgeable. He was also very good at keeping me interested and focused on the subject since he's so enthusiastic and upbeat! I definitely feel like I mastered the basics of chemistry after just a few sessions with him!
I hired Gregory to help my son prepare for his upcoming his SAT exam. He had taken the test a few months ago and was not prepared and his score was not reflective as well as it could have been if he had been more prepared. Hence, I chose to hire another Wyzant tutor - I have had such a great outcome with my son's grades after using one of their tutors. Well, hiring Greg has turned out to be the best decision I have made -- my son not only loves Greg - my son loves a good sense of humor and apparently Greg has an amazing one! - and my son is not only doing the homework that Greg has assigned to him -- he schedules an appointment after each session to make sure he has consistent sessions with Greg -- I feel so confident with my choice in Greg that after these sessions my son is going to perform so much better on this upcoming SAT - not only that, my son feels confident! I would recommend Greg highly as he is thorough and cares so much about making sure my son has the necessary tools in his vocabulary and essay writing. The SAT is not an easy test but if you have a good tutor that prepares you, it can definitely reduce the anxiety and make your child feel prepared and confident. Greg has definitely made that a true possibility. I highly highly recommend him!
Gregory has been tremendously helpful in prepping our daughter for her Subject SAT in Biology. He has a comfortable, fun manner of presenting information in a memorable way but he also effectively covers a lot of detailed material in each session. Gregory has been very professional to deal with on every level - reliable, prompt and easy to work with on scheduling . So far it's been a great experience for our family.
Greg is my ISEE tutor. He is a very humorous, patient tutor. I came from China 1 year ago. He helped me to improve my English. Since my vocabulary level is very low, he taught me different ways to memorize the words and it is very efficient. My reading comprehension is also very bad. Greg taught me how to interpret the passages. I learned a lot from him.
I was worried about selecting a tutor from the internet, but desperation drove me to Greg who has been amazing working with my daughter on AP Biology. He is upbeat, funny, and knowledgeable. Greg answered our distress call near the end of the semester and helped to pull things together for the final push. In the second semester, we plan to have him come weekly so that she can keep on top of things and, hopefully, find herself in a stronger place at the end of this term. Yeah, Greg!!
My daughter, a junior in high school taking APES, is being tutored by Greg. Her test scores have risen since she started with him, and we are fully confident that they will continue to do so. He has a very good teaching style and an excellent level of knowledge in the subject matter. We would use him for any subject matter that he is capable of teaching.
Mr. Gregory is a get to the main point tutor. Instantly help your kid get the knowledge to higher level. He has the knowledge and enthusiasm about Biology. He enjoys teaching so much and you can feel his passion on helping kids do well.
My kids were having a hard time in an Honors Algebra II until we found Greg. He is very skilled and knowledgeable in the subject matter and extremely positive and encouraging. More importantly, my children respond very well to him and look forward to their sessions with Greg. Their grades have improved dramatically, thanks to Greg. I would enthusiastically recommend Greg as a tutor!
We chose Greg because he was very accommodating. We chose Greg because he could tutor our son on both Biology and PSAT. This helped our son tremendously!
We chose Greg after emailing and speaking with 17 other Tutors on WyzAnt. Part of the reason was his combination of tremendous knowledge on the subject as well as his wonderful personality. It is not that easy to get a 14 year old boy to laugh while studying Biology or much less the PSAT. Greg made the process seamless and enjoyable!
We thank you and are grateful we can continue with Chemistry Physics and the SAT
THE RESULTS - Our son received an A for Biology. Our son's PSAT placed him in the 95% percentile and his projected SAT score based on his results from the PSAT were 1,800 to 2,000. Considering we was in his second month of High School when he took the PSAT this is an amazing result. We credit the work Liam did with Greg very influential in the results obtained.
Next summer we plan to use Greg for Summer School Chemistry as well as preparing for the SAT.
If you want your child to have outstanding results and enjoy doing the work Greg should be your tutor of choice.
Thank you Greg and we look forward to Chemistry, the the following year Physics as well as the SAT preparation.
Greg is great. He is a an excellent tutor as well as a motivator. My daughter has turned her D grades into B and A in Chemistry tests. He also goes out of his away in assisting on math subjects that support chemistry where she lacked in skills. I can't thank him enough.
Greg and I worked together a bunch of times over the course of this year. He was very helpful and always knew what he was doing. He was never stumped by any questions that the book or I had. Some of the chemistry teachers at Beverly Hills High can be tough, but with Greg helping me, I got an A first and second semester. I would recommend him to anyone who needs or wants to do better in chemistry.
Greg is extremely patient and knowledgeable. Thank you for your help!
Greg is just terrific. He was able to come to our home the same day we asked for tutoring support in Chemistry, which happened to be on a Sunday! My son is a 10th grader and was struggling with Chemistry concepts, periodic table, complicated formulas, ratios, and other Chem related things. Greg was patient, which is really such a gift, and provided just the right guidance, support and challenge. He helped our son tremendously and our son went into his final exam with confidence. What more could you ask for? We are delighted to have found Greg and look forward to this coming second trimester to help in Biology. Greg made me realize that prior tutors were simply just that, tutors. As opposed to a teacher. Greg is a successful tutor because he knows how to teach children and gauge the instruction based on the students ability, focus and drive.
I've been tutored by Greg for a short time but I already see a lot of improvement in my work in biology. A subject I usually dread becomes a lot of fun while working with Greg. He makes it really simple to understand concepts, and he is a wonderful teacher.
My daughter, a sophomore in high school, has been having problems understanding Chemistry, and Gregory has been able to explain the material and keep her focused during several 2 hour lessons. He makes the material very clear, and checks to make sure that her understanding is correct. Not only does he have a great command of Chemistry, his teaching style is also engaging and effective. I'm glad to have Gregory working with my daughter to ensure that she does well on her Chemistry midterm exam. I highly recommend Gregory as a tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked with many students that have attention problems. I can help identify critical elements for school success, effective behavioral strategies, and how to help these students stay organized. I can be a valuable resource for parents, teachers, and ADHD students alike.
I have helped many students prepare smarter and score higher on the Catholic High School Entrance Exams. That's because I can provide personalized COOP, HSPT and TACHS prep experience designed to meet your specific needs and goals. I also provide information on test format, question types, and scoring rules, along with expert tips that guide students through verbal and quantitative (math) exercises.
I am a certified teacher and have tutored elementary students for the past ten years one-on-one as well as in group settings. Strong reading, writing, and math skills are the foundation for future academic success. I have taught every aspect of reading from sound and word recognition through the skills necessary to read great literature. I am comfortable teaching writing - from basic spelling, vocabulary, and sentence construction to research papers and creative fiction. I have an extensive background in mathematics and science rarely found in elementary teachers. Beyond memorizing facts, I help children to see how their lessons apply to real life.
I work with parents so life-long learning habits are established.
I have tutored elementary students from the following Los Angeles area schools: John Thomas Dye School, Brentwood School, Crossroads, St. Paul the Apostle, New Roads School, Westside Neighborhood School, and Sierra Canyon School.
The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE - Grades 4-12) provides secure, flexible testing, accurate scoring, clear reporting and responsive service. I've helped many students over the years prepare for the ISEE and reach their goals for admission to top private schools. I am also familiar with many of the retail products that students will have to use to prepare for the ISEE. My experience teaching SAT, ACT, SHSAT, and other standardized tests, along with my 10+ years of teaching, has well-prepared me to coach anyone to ISEE success.
As both a tutor and certified teacher, I have helped many students successfully prepare for the PSAT. It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools.
The PSAT/NMSQT measures:
• Critical reading skills
• Math problem-solving skills
• Writing skills
The most common reasons for taking the PSAT/NMSQT are to:
• Receive feedback on your strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college study. You can then focus your preparation on those areas that could most benefit from additional study or practice.
• See how your performance on an admissions test might compare with that of others applying to college.
• Enter the competition for scholarships from NMSC (grade 11).
• Help prepare for the SAT. You can become familiar with the kinds of questions and the exact directions you will see on the SAT.
I am a certified teacher with several years of classroom experience (including Honors & Advanced Placement courses). I have been tutoring privately for over ten years and have helped hundreds of students with their study skills.
I teach students how to become more organized, to plan ahead, and to use their study time appropriately. I encourage students to use an assignment book and track their homework due dates, test dates, and plan accordingly. Other study skills that students learn while working with me include goal-setting, prioritizing, and predicting possible test questions.
