I graduated from Oberlin College in 2004, and returned to Los Angeles. After graduation, I decided to pursue a career in teaching. I went to UCLA extension and obtained my TESOL certificate and TEFL certificate. After obtaining my certificate, I had the opportunity to work at an English Language Center in Westwood. While obtaining my certificate, I volunteered at the Japanese Institute of Sawtelle and helped children with their Japanese. Now, I have been given the opportunity to work at this school.
Starting in 2006, I decided to work as an aide at an elementary school. Then, I applied to graduate school at Mount St. Marys and have been trying to get my teacher's credential. Now, I work at Broadway Elementary as a teacher's assistant. While at Broadway, I help out by working with children in small groups and helping them with vocabulary. I also help improve the children's fluency daily.
