With a passion for learning American Sign Language, I decided to become a certified interpreter for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in 2009. Shortly after, I applied to California State Northridge University where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Deaf Studies. Today, I have a Master's Degree for teaching American Sign Language from Northern Colorado University. I am currently an ASL (American Sign Language) high school teacher. I plan to teach and interpret in college settings. I absolutely love what I do. Not only am I passionate about teaching sign language and Deaf Culture, but I am also passionate about seeing students excel. I want to make sure students not only grasp the language but also gain knowledge about the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture. I look forward to assisting you in developing skills needed to converse within the Deaf Community!

Saida is an amazing tutor! I was so impressed with her organizational skills, breadth of knowledge, flexibility, and punctuality. What's more, she's fun and very sweet. She'd be the perfect tutor for any student who is shy or new to one-on-one tutoring. She interjects new ideas into her tutoring all the time, like using sticker reward charts for skills learned. She has greatly increased my daughter's confidence and her grade. All in all, Saida is very impressive and she is a tutor whom I would highly recommend to others.
I had a great first lesson with Saida. She is patient, encouraging, and knows how to gauge how much info the student can grasp in each session. I am going to enjoy all my lessons with her!
My daughter really looks forward to seeing her each week. Thank you.
I found Saida very professional and easy to work with. We got an enormous amount done in very little time. I am looking forward to working with her again on Thursday.
My daughter is really loving her sign language lessons with Saida. She says she is really a great tutor, and she is learning so much! She is also sweet and has a pleasant disposition.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have about 10 years of experience in the field of American Sign Language and Deaf Studies and I absolutely love it! I graduated from California State University of Northridge with a Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies (as of May 2012). In addition, I received a certificate for interpreting for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals from Golden West College (in May 2009). I am currently a Graduate student at Northern Colorado University for teaching American Sign Language. I will receive my MA degree in December of 2016. I also teach American Sign Language at El Segundo High School in El Segundo California.
I have had the opportunity to interpret for Princess Cruise Ship this year of 2016. I have also interpreted for plays in theatre with well known actors and actresses, including Debbie Allen. I have had a great opportunity to teach some of the cast members from the T.V show, "Switched at Birth," as well.
I will be more than happy to fit you into my schedule for any Sign Language tutoring you may need!
