“**Goes Above and Beyond**”

I have a Ph.D. in Math, and taught math and applied math and worked in the industry in applied math for over twenty years.

I have tutored in Calculus , Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, Probability, Discrete Math and Differential Equations and Physics. My students testify that I explain concepts and techniques very clearly.

Great tutor. Extremely well prepared for each class. I was lucky to find such a knowledgeable tutor. I asked Fred for help to prepare for my final in an advanced probability course from UC Berkeley. I've been searching for many tutors and none of them were comfortable with the rigor of the material. Not only was Fred comfortable with the material, but he provided me with great resources and insights about how to apply concepts to general problems. Will contact again.

Helped my daughter with AP Calculus and is a wonderful and patient teacher and is always well prepared with extra notes and tips to make the topics easier to understand.

Great review of the materials. Explained well - the important concepts behind the formulas/operations. Put extra effort in providing me with an "essential concepts"/review sheet.

Today we covered a couple of topics in differential equations, including variation of parameters and euler-cauchy equations. Fred helped me work through some of the problems I found to be challenging.

Fred tutored my son for his precalculus honors course. He is very thorough and explains the details of the problem. He created extra material to help explain difficult concepts.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Calculus is one my favorite subjects. I have tutored more high school and college students in Calculus than in any other subject. I tutor both one-dimensional calculus and advanced multidimensional calculus.

My area specialization in graduate school was differential geometry, which is very related to differential equations. Many of the papers that I have published use differential equations, e.g., Riccati equation or parabolic partial differential equations. I have developed derivatives valuation software based on finite difference solutions to differential equations. I have tutored students in differential equations

I took courses in Discrete math when in College. I have done consultancy based on Graph theory, which is part of discrete math. I have tutored students on Discrete math. Discrete math overlaps with set theory and logic, both of which are basic to higher mathematics and my expertise thereof.

Finite math and discrete math are more-or-less synonymous. As such my qualification for discrete math also apply to finite math. These include my education my teaching experience, and my experience in the industry.

Linear algebra is basic to almost all parts of mathematics, and I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics. I have published many papers that use linear algebra. I have written many computer programs that use such topics in linear as algebra matrix factorization and eigen vectors. I have tutored many students in linear algebra

Logic is basic to mathematics and I am a highly trained mathematician. I took logic courses when I was a college student. I have tutored college students on Discrete Math much of which overlaps with a course in logic.

I took many courses in physics and mathematical physics at university. Most of my research have been in the area of applied math with techniques and concepts common with theoretical physics. Beside classical mechanics and electromagnetic theory, I have studied general relativity, quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics.

I have tutored many high-school students, including in Precalculus. I think Precalculus is a great preparation for calculus and beyond, as it consolidates the algebra, trigonometry and analytical geometry that the student has learned up to that point. I find tutoring Precalculus exciting and pleasurable.

Probability theory is an area of my expertise. I have published advanced probability papers in academic journals, including on diffusion processes and martingales. I have tutored college students with their upper division probability courses.

I did Python programming from 2002 to 2005. Recently, for a consulting job, I also used Python. I have studied mathematical and statistical libraries of NumPy and SciPy which are extensions standard Python libraries. I also advised a student on Python

Statistics is very closely related to probability, which is an area of my expertise. I have worked in many areas of Statistics, including hypothesis testing, t-test, ANOVA, regression, cluster analysis, factor analysis, and time series. I have also used many statistical computing packages.
