Jim has been tutoring my daughter for about 2 months, 2 hours per week. Her SAT is this coming Saturday. I feel like my daughter is as prepared as she can be, given the limited time she has to study. Jim has been great-- punctual, uplifting (which is very important for a teenager), all around professional and resourceful, helping her both address unanswered questions from her regular homework and methodically breaking down the SAT problems type by type. He loves to teach math.
My son really enjoys working with James and he has been very flexible in working with my son's challenging schedule. James goes the extra mile to ensure the concepts are understood before moving on to the next topic. We could not be more pleased with the support from James.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
