I am an enthusiastic science professor who loves tutoring. The sciences and mathematics are so very important for a strong basis towards college work that I always want students to grasp the major concepts behind various topics. Both science and mathematics instruction are my lifelong passion. I believe that every student who wishes to pursue either of these fields needs a strong foundation and clear understanding of the big picture. Once the concept has been understood all related examination and homework problems are easy to understand.

For the last several months I have invested my time in understanding the ideas and implementation of COMMON CORE methodologies. My understanding of this approach is now sufficient enough for me to pass along the ideas inherent in the new curriculum. I can offer assistance to both parents and students in addressing this teaching philosophy.

For over 12 years I worked in the textbook publishing field and am familiar with the strengths and shortcomings of many books. I am also a published author in the physical science textbook arena. This experience provided me with the skills of taking scientific or mathematical jargon and converting it into accessible formats. In addition I am familiar with the goals and structure of major general examinations like the SAT, GRE, and ACT. There is a strategy to learn and I am proficient in teaching this.

I love to teach and tutor. A student's success is my success and eventually the world's success. We live in a time where, more than ever, a young person's ability to understand the language of science (mathematics) and the science itself is crucial to society as a whole. I believe we are getting behind in the formal classroom and that tutoring can bring the subject closer and clearer to the student who is struggling, excelling, or just interested in some aspect of mathematics and science.
