“**knowledgeable and patient**”

I graduated with high honors from UC Merced in 2013 after only three years, and I graduated from CSU Fresno with an MS, also with honors. I've been tutoring since 2012, first at the Bali Learning Center in Merced (until Fall 2015), then privately once the travel became too much of a burden. As such, I have thousands of hours of tutoring experience

*I do not charge extra for group tutoring. I charge slightly more for SAT prep and coding lessons, due to required prep and materials on my end.*

My daughter feels more confident already; he is helping her with trigonometry. We have already scheduled another session with him. Yes, we do recommend him.

Appreciate Ryans' patient work wGrandson. Ryan's made couple of commitments on assisting in search to find another tutor after he leaves in Sep that have not been kept.

Hi Joe! I went to the college to post your flier for a replacement tutor on Friday, but nobody was in the Engineering office. I decided to go back today and make sure they know that you're looking for a coding tutor. If there's anything else you think I could do to help, let me know!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have been teaching ACT prep for several years and all of my students have received a score they felt happy with. When I tutor this subject, I typically teach the student to use a companion text (typically Barron's). By teaching them how to use the text, the student can improve their understanding on their own when they aren't able to meet with me.

I have a BS in Physics with Mathematical Emphasis and I graduated from my university with high honors. As such, I took (and aced) many high-level math classes. Additionally, I've been tutoring math (including ACT Math) for several years now. I am intimately familiar with the requirements of the ACT test and will often use a companion book (Barron's is my favorite, but I've used others as well) when working with students.

I have been mentoring college-bound students for five years now. Among many things, I have helped my students and mentees with entrance exams, essays, and financial options available to new or current college students. I have also helped students that are looking to attend college decide how best to make themselves appealing to their favorite schools. I have worked closely with several admissions offices to best learn how the selection process is made, and I have (obviously) attended college recently enough to have personal experience to draw upon.

I have a BS in physics with mathematical emphases and an MS in the same field. I wrote my thesis on physics math theory and I am publishing a paper in the American Journal of Physics based on my thesis research (publish date: Oct 2016, available upon request). I have taken and aced just about every math class imaginable at the undergraduate level, and several physics-related math graduate courses (group theory, functional analysis, advanced numerical analysis, etc...). Not only do I have a mastery of many math subjects (including differential equations, obviously), but I have the unique understanding of math that can come only from the practical application that physics and engineering offers.

At one time I was actually considering making English and English literature my life-long passion! I won several poetry and essay contests when I was younger, and I have tutored SAT English for several years now. I am also an experienced and accomplished science writer.

I have been using computers all my life! I've built several computers, taken several coding and computer science/engineering courses in college, and done hours and hours of independent research regarding computers. If you want information on the inner-workings of a computer, a network, or a program, I can help you out!

I have my BS in Physics with an emphasis in mathematics. I also tutored geometry for years at the Bali Learning Center in Merced. In the past, I've been able to raise my students' confidence in the subject material and boost their grade considerably.

I have been an avid reader, an English language enthusiast, and an SAT English tutor for many years. This has prepared me more than adequately teaching and correcting grammar.

I have been helping people prepare for the GRE since 2013. I myself took the GRE that year and scored in the 98th and 99th percentiles for English and Math respectively. Having relatively recently taken the test, and having taught it for several years now, I am confident that I would be able to help anyone with feeling comfortable and prepared for the test.

I have taken and aced just about every math class imaginable at the undergraduate level, and several physics-related math graduate courses (group theory, functional analysis, advanced numerical analysis, etc). Not only do I have a mastery of many math subjects (including linear algebra, obviously), but I have the unique understanding of math that can come only from the practical application that physics and engineering offers. Linear algebra in particular is of great importance in physics, and as such I have used it often on a daily basis myself!

I have been an avid reader for years and years! I have read and re-read every book that can be found on any required reading lists for high schools, and most books that are required for budding literature majors. Through experience and several classes taken in undergrad, I have a keen understanding of literary analysis and interpretation.

During the course of getting my BS in physics with a mathematical emphasis, I took several classes that took advantage of MATLAB, including several numerical analysis courses. As such, I became comfortable using MATLAB for the purpose of numerics. Additionally, I used MATLAB a bit in the lab I worked in at UC Merced. I used it to create a topographical map of a sample from gathered ellipsometry data, so I have some lab experience with it as well. Additionally I've tutored several students over the past few years in the basics of MATLAB.
