I have enjoyed Math ever since grade school and even more so now when I actually apply it to my career and life. I have previously taught summer school Math programs, as well as tutoring in after school studies. My experience runs from Elementary through College level Math courses.
Although Math and teaching math are true passions of mine, I did not choose math as a major nor teaching as a career. I majored in Biochemistry and work in the Biopharmaceutical industry. What has deterred me from teaching, unfortunately, is the problem of overcrowded classrooms. To add another unfortunate, many (though I understand, not all) teachers I've encountered teach as a means of a paycheck rather than a true passion and desire to have students learn while at the same time earning a living.
I miss my days as a tutor because parents/students who seek tutors sincerely care to achieve/learn. And I, sincerely, enjoy getting students to actually understand math. Though you may not learn to love it if you simply despise it, I guarantee enough improvement to pass. And if I'm lucky, in the end, you'll love math as much as I do.
I love Math. If you love math, you will know multiple ways to arrive at the same correct answer. If the way you've been taught isn't provoking you to understand, I will show you other methods to learn.
I look forward to tutoring you soon. I have enjoyed Math ever since grade school and even more so now when I actually apply it to my career and life. I have previously taught summer school Math programs, as well as tutoring in after school studies. My experience
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
