About Ryan

I have been on both sides of the tutor-student relationship. As a student I realize that the subject matter may be intimidating and daunting and that mastery may seem hopelessly out of reach. But it isn't! As a teacher, my strategy is to break the topic down to its simplest concepts. Once the student has mastered these concepts, we will put them to use in working through examples and problems of varying difficulty. This way the student builds confidence in his or her problem-solving ability. After that, the sky is the limit!

My primary areas of interest are math (algebra through calculus), physics (all levels) and astronomy. I have tutored students of all backgrounds and skill levels with very positive results. I look forward to helping you through any difficulties that you may have with any of these topics.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
