My business experience has helped my basketball coaching success and my coaching experience has helped my business success. I have progressed in business to the Chief Financial Officer level (CFO) and helped companies triple in value using my thorough understanding of business operations to find ways to improve the business. I have also progressed as a coach in that my last girls team had an undefeated record and my last boys team had an undefeated record with the final tournament win. I was asked to return to the volunteer program after my daughters graduated from the program, because the sponsors liked my coaching style. I never yelled at the players, but was able to inspire teamwork, focus on fundamentals and a love for the game.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
MBA with a major in Accounting and an active CPA license. I received a scholarship while earning my MBA, which provided the opportunity to teach three undergraduate accounting classes. In addition, I have more than 20 years of practical experience applying accounting knowledge to practical situations.
My coaching experience is with boys and girls from 3rd grade through 6th grade. The volunteer league was sponsored by M&M Sports, Randy McFeaney and John Masters of Ralston Middle School. I coached 3rd and 4th grade girls for one year, 5th and 6th grade girls for three years and 5th and 6th grade boys for two years. My last year with girls was an undefeated year and my last year with boys was an undefeated year.
As a coach, I have learned how to bring out the best in a player and a team. In a volunteer league, I have learned how to identify the strengths of individual players and assign the appropriae position for each player. For example, I have drills in practice that allow me to evalutate ball handling. I choose the best ball handlers as the guards and make sure rest of the team knows to hand off the ball to a guard when posession changes.
In regulation play, you will only play if you demonstrate the skills. So, I can also help prepare a student for regulation play through my drills for assessment, observing team player interaction and abiity to follow coaching instruction. I can then provide recommendations for each player to work on to improve his/her skills.
I was asked to return for two more years after my two daughters graduated from a volunteer youth program, because the sponsers liked my coaching style and my ability to teach fundamentals. I had one undefeated season with girls and out of two years with boys, my second year was undefeated with the winning of the tournament.
I have more than 30 years of experience in business including BIG 4 Public Accounting, Fortune 500 companies, successful turn arounds of mid sized companies and companies where I have contributed to growth in size and value.
I began my career as an auditor, moved to inventory control, then to Controller and finally to CFO. Through the years I have studied various cultures and what it takes for a company to be successful. Painting a picture of success is easy, moving a culture through the changes necessary to achieve success is the difficult part. That is why I have focused on developing the Human Resources side of the business as well as the Information Technology resources. It is important that the employees are trained properly, provided the right motivation to succeed and given the right tools and resources to succeed.
My financial background is primarily important for the education and support of the owners of the business. The owners need to know what a financially healthy company looks like and know how to get there. If the owners already know that, then I have the experience to provide the appropriate reporting and anlaysis to make the best decisions along the way.
