Many students have difficulties with math. Over my years of teaching the subject, I have had great success in presenting material that students could understand! I feel the presentation is the biggest key to the SUCCESS!

I can present the material in all subjects in a manner that the students readily understand the concepts at hand.

No one needs to proceed without a full understanding of what has been previously taught. Often times it takes but a few key ideas to clear the pathway to mastering material!

While in college, I minored in English. Many of my classes required several written papers critiquing and analyzing literature of all forms. I also helped my daughter extensively with her writing assignments, both while she was in high school and college. I became quite fluent in my compositional work.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have been a mathematics teacher for the past 39 years. During that time I taught the following courses: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I was introduced to many and various methods of teaching the same material to the students. I feel that I have compiled some high quality methods to teach the presented material in an understandable and beneficial way. My students develop a sound and complete knowledge of the concepts which I teach. Many times the success of a student in a math class is dependent upon how the subject material is presented.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

During the 39 years that I taught high school Algebra II, I was able to see how this course came from previously taught subjects and its concepts necessary for students to learn in order to move on to Trigonometry or Pre-Calculus. I have an extensive knowledge of the material contained in Algebra II and excellent methods to explain these concepts in a manner that is easy for the students to understand. My methods are outstanding as this country's educators take us into the "Core Curriculum," aligning quite well with the structure of the SAT/ACT tests.
Geometry,

Geometry

I truly feel that geometry is a straight forward, no grey areas, course. It is a course that I have taught for the past 39 years. During that time I have developed a very deep and sound understanding of the concepts presented. I have been able to utilize this knowledge to express these ideas in a manner that high school students easily understand. I find geometry to be a course which makes students think and reason through problems. This coincides greatly with the "Common Core" curriculum, currently being taught across our nation. This also serves as a great course in preparation for the SAT Reasoning test!
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I have taught algebra classes for the past 39 years. I have many and various ways to present the same material, making it both understandable and meaningful to all of the students.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I taught precalculus for 39 years at the high school level. I have tutored several high school and college students in this subject.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I have been proctoring the SAT test for the past 15 years. During that time I have developed a true understanding as to what the students are asked and expected to do on the Math portion of the test. SAT is a Reasoning test, coinciding quite well with the "Common Core" curriculum, currently being taught across our nation. I feel that I can greatly help all individuals who are trying to succeed to the greatest extent on the SAT test!

Miracle Worker!

My daughter is a senior and struggles with standardized testing. We had worked with local tutors with no luck. We hired Neal D. to work with her and the first day I could see a difference. He was patient, and adjusted to her style of learning. After a few weeks, my daughter took the SAT again and I am happy to announce I have a college kid in the Fall! THANK you NEAL and Wyzant!!

Broke down topics into simple steps.

There were about 4 different topics that I was confused about prior to having a lesson with Neal. He solidified my understanding of basic math concepts and used that as a transition to the harder topics. He is very patient and explained topics in simple terms that made it easier to learn.

Great Geometry Tutor

My son has enjoyed working with Neal. He is patient and explains things much better than his current teacher. We are pleased with how easy the program is to use and with Neal's instruction.

Kind, knowledgeable and patient

Neal is one of the most intelligent people I have met. Learning Geometry is now a thing of the past for me. He taught it so clearly I grasp the concept immediately. I will be using him to assist me with all other subjects. I now fully understand Geometry, he's worth every dime and more. I can't ask for a better tutor he's a wonderful person to us for all subjects, this man is a genius! Amber. J.

Worth the Money Plus Some!!!

AMAZING TEACHER. Neal works wonders in a short period of time. So lucky my daughter has him to strengthen placement tests for college. He is Thorough, so knowledgeable and makes his student completely understand the work.

I understand the way he explains the math concepts. He is a very patient teacher. He is very flexible with his time and that works well with me. I would highly recommend him.

very helpful!!

He was very patient and explained things in the best way I could understand them. If I didn’t understand one way, he would just phrase it in a different way. It was very helpful.

Over charged me without my consent for poor quality work

Neal offered to help my 9th grade son who doesn't need lessons but wants worksheets to work on his Algebra 2 during the spring break to consolidate his grasp on a unit called quadratics. Per my request, Neal looked at my son's online syllabus, recommended a workbook he's using for his current students, and selected a total of 34 practice problems from the workbook, which my son completed in about an hour. Neal never check my son's work since there are answer key's at the end of the workbook and my son understood everything on his own. For this small amount of work on his part, Neal proceeded to charge me 2 hours of tutoring without my consent. Additionally, some of Neal's choices of practice problems are not suitable to my son's level, which raises question if he really read my son's syllabus closely. So my son decided to select practice problems himself to work on for the rest of the spring break. Finally, Neal billed me for "pre-calculus" tutoring while in fact it was algebra 2.

Great Tutor

Neal was a great help to our daughter who has worked with other private tutors before. He was prompt, prepared and worked well in preparing our daughter for her testing. I highly recommend Neal and have already let friends know about him!
