About Lauriel

As parents who care about their children's education, there's nothing more difficult than watching your children struggle and being unsure of how to help them. As students who want to succeed, there is nothing more frustrating than trying your best and not achieving the results you deserve, or worse, falling behind your peers. That's where I come in...

Working in education has always been my passion. I tutor because I believe in the value and importance of education, and the confidence and success that it can inspire. I have taken courses in creative teaching methods that make learning memorable, relevant, and fun. Additionally, I am extremely organized, detailed, reliable, and professional. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English & Education. I have impeccable written and verbal communication skills, am patient, and very personable. I’m also a very positive, upbeat, and enthusiastic person. I believe in making positive differences in the lives of students. I also work with parents on techniques that they can use to help their children.

While earning my degree, I had the opportunity to work with students on a one on one basis in the classroom, and also to observe credentialed educators teach and work with children. The students that I worked with included advanced learners, second language learners, at risk youth, and IEP students. I have also had experience working with learning disabled children during my hours volunteering as an instructor for a reading and tutoring program at my church; this program was created to foster educational growth and confidence within the community. I have also recently had the opportunity to work with children diagnosed with Autism through a federally funded non-profit organization. I am trained in DTT, and have a proven track record of success in bridging educational gaps. I am also comfortable working one on one or in group sessions.

Presently I am a certified parent educator (parent coach) working at a non profit organization here in the Antelope Valley. I specialize in child development and have had numerous trainings on brain development and the impact of early education and experiences. My hope is for a confident, loving community ready to return all the support they have received. I truly believe that it takes a village of support and would be grateful for the opportunity to become a part of yours.
