Hello, my name is Samantha! I graduated from California State Long Beach with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Shortly after, I continued my education in Occupational Therapy and graduated from Santa Ana College with an Associates in Occupational Therapy. With my background in OT, I have the knowledge and skills to develop creative and adaptive strategies that will work best with each student. I am devoted to helping children find their true potential, as well as increasing their self-confidence as a student.
Prior to working in OT, I worked as a Pediatric Behavior Therapist working with children with autism. Currently, I am working in the public school system as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), working with students with variety of special needs. I have experience tutoring at the Elementary level, as well as leading pre-school students in a small classroom setting for Sunday School.
I personally believe that learning should be fun! Making the process enjoyable and meaningful will allow students the opportunity to retain information more effectively. I love helping students find new and productive ways to learn and study - whether it's through play, art, or even creating and singing a silly song! As a tutor, I will strive to find the best learning style for each student and make lessons fun and engaging to encourage participation and success!
I'd love to work with you to achieve success as a student! Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
