Hello, I'm Johanna! I graduated summa cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University with a B.A. in English, and before that frequently made the Dean’s List as I completed dual A.A. degrees in Art and Liberal Studies. Studying English at SNHU provided me with ample experience in tutoring my peers when we swapped work for assigned critique. My qualifications center on English and writing, and while most of my experience is with college and high school students, I would love to help younger students get a head start on writing and composition skills that will help them throughout their school years.

As a tutor, I will focus my critique on the core structure of your writing, while also teaching you techniques to carry any improvements forward into the future. I'll check if the structure of your work remains logical across the entire assignment and each sentence, give you a heads-up about any grammatical fixes that would improve flow for your readers, and provide guidance on how to smoothly integrate sources and cite them properly. After that, we can work on smaller-scale details.

I also intend to tailor my technique to whatever part of the assignment-writing process you struggle with most, providing you tricks and techniques that helped me. If you struggle to start, I'll break the teacher's single due date for a large writing assignment into my three due dates for an outline, rough draft, and final draft, and teach you how to focus on "what" you'll say in your writing before worrying about "how" you say it.
