Hi, I'm Patrick and I love music. I graduated with a B.A. in Music. I play piano, guitar, the bass and I sing. Currently I'm a Music Minister at a church, but I am looking for some supplemental income as well as a chance to teach others my passion for music. In the past I have taught private lessons, vocally, piano and guitar. I love Music Theory and songwriting as well. I also am pretty good at math, specifically Algebra I & II.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
All my life I've been able to hear a piece of music and be able to play it back with proficiency. After fine tuning my music skills in college, I was able to distinguish even more; I was able to recognize chord structures, transitional phrases, even write out what was being played both rhythmically and notationally. Honestly, my ear training has taken me along way in life and because of it, music comes to life more than simply reading it on paper or in a book.
Having a B.A. in Music should speak for itself, however, since graduating I have applied my degree. I have been, and am currently, a music pastor, which has given me the opportunity to lead in worship, direct a choir, teach private lessons, even write some music. Music is a huge part of my life!
Music History was one of my favorite classes in college. It was so fascinating to learn where modern music derived from. One of my college teachers said, "Beethoven was one of the first Rock-n-Roll artist." Since I heard that, I loved to discover where music came from; to see how it has changed (or not changed) over the centuries. Great subject! Great stuff!
I read music quite well, and I sing well too. I direct a church choir and lead worship. In college, I was always learning new music, having to sight read it. I have a good ear, nearly 'perfect pitch'... I like to refer to it as 'relative pitch'...
Songwriting & Composition were 2 of my favorite classes in college. Since then, I have had the privilege of helping several students with their songwriting skills by evaluating at 'Fine Art' competitions. I have personally written a handful of songs, mainly worship choruses, but I still have the skill to write & help cultivate students to write symphonic or lyrical music.
I almost became a voice major in music. The reason I didn't, was because I fell in love with the bass guitar. But I have taken plenty of voice classes, and I've had private lessons. I love to sing! I direct a choir & lead the worship team at church, and have coached vocally on several occasions.
