Hi, my name is Grace and I'm a graduate from UC Irvine with a B.S. in Public Health Sciences. I am passionate about teaching high school and college students in Biology and Chemistry. In addition to a B.S., I have also received an A.A. in Baking and Pastry from The Art Institute of California. I enjoy expanding my knowledge and I hope to open new horizons for my students as well!
I have extensive expertise in Biology; it was my area of focus during high school and throughout college. My aim is to ensure that students understand Biology inside and out instead of relying purely on memorization. When a student understands how something works at its most basic level, he or she will be able to build upon that foundation as new information is presented. Do not wait until finals week to open that science textbook!
For my K-6 students, I feel comfortable teaching all subjects because I have volunteered at summer day camp for several years. I have developed strong communication & teach skills through this and have become confident is working with young children.
My approach to tutoring is to sit down with the student and to go through each problem step by step. I make sure to answer all the questions that the student did not have a chance to ask or were too afraid of asking. I will not go onto the next problem or subject until I feel that the student can solve the problem without my guidance.
Thanks for reading and I hope we can get in touch soon!
