I am patient, caring and creative in helping students understand the principles behind math concepts. Having worked with many intervention students, I have been able to help students bridge the learning gap and raise test scores from failing to 100%. I graduated from USC School of Business, and developed two successful businesses. I now have three daughters in College and I have re-discovered my love of math and enjoy sharing that with my students. I have completed my Master's in Education and teaching credential in Secondary Mathematics.

My daughter is struggling with the way her teacher is teaching. Karenleigh shows her other ways to learn the material that sticks for my daughter. She is super patient and positive without talking to my 16 year old like she is 5. This works wonderfully with my daughter and she is able to remember the tricks that Karenleigh shows her. I highly recommend her as a math tutor.
Karen is an extremely good tutor very knowledgeable and explains concepts well. She is very patient with a thorough understanding about math.
Karen has been a great help to my daughter!! My daughter has improved greatly over a short period of time!
Karenleigh is remarkable. First math tutor that my son truly enjoyed. She is fun, encouraging, very helpful, and a great teacher! Very understanding and motivating. Highly recommend.
Karen is kind and patient and getting through to my daughter who is not so fond of math. We are seeing improvement and confidence returning. Thank you Karen!
Karen has been extremely helpful in assisting my daughter with her Pre-Calc. Karen takes the time to listen and adjust her teaching style so that my daughter understands the material. She has done a great job breaking down the fundamentals in a manner which can be understood. My daughter is truly understanding the material and since she has started working with her, her grade has improved significantly.
Karenleigh has been working with Brady for 6 weeks now. His algebra 2 grade has jumped up 5 percentage points due to improved test scores.
What I like most about Karenleigh is her flexibility and my sons seems to grasp the subject matter very quickly when they work together. Brady will continue to work with Karenleigh prior to all test because we are seeing excellent results when they work together.
Karenleigh was a great help. She explained algebra in easy to understand terms, made good use of our time, and was very professional. Cant wait to work with her again.
Karen tutored me in Operations Management, which was a complete foreign language to me starting out. Feeling doomed for a bad grade in the beginning, Karen worked with me throughout my semester. She is very patient and doesn't just give away answers- she gives you the tools to figure it out on your own. She also related everything I was learning to real life to make it even better!! I came out of the class with a B+ :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THANKS KAREN!!
My son had a hard time finding someone that could help him with IB Calculus. Karenlegiht was wonderful. She was able to help him prepare for his Mid-tern. We are so grateful that we found her and will be working with her in the future.
Karenleigh has really helped me understand calculus. She is very flexible with her scheduling and willing to help on short notice if necessary.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Algebra I - my experience varies from ambitious 6th graders to adults needing refresher for other courses. I also enjoy helping students who "hate math" to make it fun and learn to love it!
Algebra II - There are lots of processes and formulas and I help my students break these down and find ways to make it easier and memorable.
I love to help students understand Calculus better. I won't give you all the answers, but I will help you find them. Discovery is the most important part of the learning process!
Geometry is a tricky math subject. Many students who "get math" have trouble with the newer concepts learned in Geometry, reasoning, proofs, formulas, etc. I help my students understand the "why" behind these concepts.
Prealgebra is usually the beginning of where parents stop being able to help their students with "math" -- even if you did well in school, you have probably forgotten the harder concepts. If you don't have the time to re-learn them all, give me a call!
Precalculus (also known as Math Analysis) is the bridge between Algebra II and Calculus. A strong understanding of Algebra II is required to do well in this class, so an individual tutoring plan is very useful to ensure success!
SAT Math is not difficult math - but it is important! Working individually with a student I am able to determine what techniques and concepts they need to understand better and put my students on a fast-track to testing success.
Statistics is not your everyday math class. There are formulas and concepts that are different from what you have previously learned, but are foundational for many sciences and social sciences. It's not easy, but I help my students rise to the challenge!
I love Trig!!! I know that makes me sound crazy, but I think I can help you love it too, because when you understand it better, Trigonometry becomes just a puzzle to solve where all the pieces fit right together.
