University of Baghdad (Bachelors in Physics)
I am an open minded, friendly, multicultural experienced teacher of foreign languages.
My native language is Arabic, grew up communicating in English as a second language, hence I have understanding of the difficulties learning a second language. I graduated from Baghdad University with a science degree, but my love for languages and the influence of my father who was a professor of English literature, lead me to languages teaching career.
While currently teaching Arabic privately, and during the over 20 years I taught Arabic and English in different countries, for different level and ages of students private and group settings, I always made sure learning is fun and my students leave with satisfaction and a smile of their faces. Quality is very important for me. That applies on listening to my student's needs, questions, planning accordingly and give a quality lesson as well.
Briefly here is my work history: Taught English to 9-year-old class at a private school in Baghdad. Owned and was the lead instructor at a private English School in Tokyo for ages 2-15 years old, as well as teaching evening classes to adults. Wiam is very knowledgeable, patient, and pleasant. She puts a lot of effort into understanding her student's goals and tailors the lessons accordingly. Highly recommend if you are trying to learn Arabic or Japanese.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
