First off: Hello, and thank you very much for considering me for your tutoring needs. My name is Mark M., born and raised in La Puente, California. Bishop Amat graduate, Rio Hondo College transfer, and currently one year away from getting my Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering major. I have always had a strong attraction to math and sciences, even when I was as young as 7 or 8. I am enrolled in Chemistry that deals with Equilibrium and Kinetics, Physics that emphasizes Statics, and learning programs to design my own machine tools.

I have been doing private tutoring for about 3 years now, and have been officially tutoring for Rio Hondo College's Math and Science Center for 2 years. I feel extremely blessed to be able to wake up everyday and go teach, as I get the chance to introduce my students to the part of math I feel is often overlooked: the fun and confidence that comes alive in every student when they feel themselves improve.

No matter how great a teacher is, their is no substitution for one-on-one instruction with a tutor. Tutoring provides the much more personalized and helpful lesson plan that cannot be had when there are 29 other students in a class room.

I am excited to help new students in however they think they need it, whether it be help connecting the final dots to fully understand the material, or learning the language of math from step 1.

Always remember, no matter how hard of time you may be having in math or any subject, that even the "Smartest Person Alive Right Now", once knew only exactly as much as you do.

Great First lesson

We have only had one lesson but it went well! Mark is easy to get along knew his stuff and was able to teach it in a way so that my boys understood. this could be what we need to get over the "math hump"

Patient and Very Knowledgeable

Mark takes his time explaining things and makes it easier for me to comprehend them. I was finding math a bit difficult during class but thanks to Mark, it makes it easier to go home and finish my homework. Awesome tutor!
