About Jessie

My undergraduate degree was in Studio Art with a minor of Religious Studies in world religions. In Studio Art I excelled in drawing, painting, pastel, ceramics, and sculpture, but also have experience in wood carving. During my undergraduate degree, I was in the Honors Program and was awarded several scholarships for my academic achievements. I recently graduated from Talbot with a Master of Philosophy. Throughout my entire education I have maintained a 3.6 and above GPA, graduated with Honors, and have received academic awards and scholarships. I am competent to tutor logic, philosophy, writing, grammar, basic math, painting, drawing (and other forms of art), biblical studies, and theology.

I don't have experience tutoring, but I do have experience as a Teachers Assistant for a graduate level class. In this poison I graded course work, corrected grammar, and helped the students excel in the class. I received personal compliments for the quality of work I put into the class and the thorough feedback I gave to the students. Both the students and the Professor honored me with the recognition of my hard work. I have also had a couple years experience teaching art to kids K-6th grade and have worked as a private art teacher.

I got my MA degree in Philosophy. An emphasis in the Philosophy program was logic and critical thinking.

I have taught many Bible Studies in past ministry work, have taken many theology classes at one of the top theology schools, and have a firm understanding of Biblical concepts through in depth personal study.

I am also a skilled writer. While working as a Teacher's Assistant, I corrected the grammar and writing structure of the students in the class. In as a student in philosophy I learned desirable skills in writing structure, conciseness, and clarity of though.

I got my degree in Studio Art and excelled in drawing, painting, pastel, ceramics, and sculpture, but also have experience in wood carving. I have experience working at an Elementry School as the resident Art Teacher and have worked at a private art school teaching students from K-6th and even some in junior high. I also have taught private art lessons.

I am a lively and enthusiastic person who love teaching and loves to see students excel. I am a strict when I need to be, but will give grace when I see the student working hard and struggling through the material. My philosophy of tutoring is to work side by side the student at their pace, but will push them hard to prepare them for their future academic goals.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I am a recent graduate student at Talbot School of Theology and took many Bible Exposition, and Theology classes while there. I received a minor in Religious studies during my undergraduate degree. I have also been a small group leader of a college group at a church and was the Women's Ministry Chair at Talbot.

I received my undergraduate degree in studio art. Part of this degree included drawing. I also took private art lessons and later taught private art lessons. In addition, I was the temporary art teacher at an Elementary School for a semester.

My undergraduate degree was studio art, which includes a variety of mediums including painting. I have also taught elementary art and private art lessons at a private school and in the home.
