My name is Profe L and I am in my third year as a contracted teacher. I began my career with Spanish in high school and have studied it ever since. I have a passion for the language and culture, and I am a firm believer that anyone can become fluent in this language with a little dedication and a good teacher/tutor. :) I learned to speak Spanish 100% in a classroom without studying abroad. It can be accomplished. :D
The reason I chose to be a teacher is because I really enjoy breaking down Spanish in a way that is easy to understand for all types of learners and I feel that I excel in this. I have tutored before and have helped students raise their overall course grades by an entire letter. I am not a cookie cutter tutor. I want to see your book/curriculum and I will personally create or find content that will apply to what you are studying. I will ask what your weaknesses are - or will discover them as we work together.
I studied Spanish for 3 years in high school, 6 years at the community college and 2 years at SDSU. I then obtained my credentials from CSU San Marcos and learned how to actually TEACH my subject :) (many college professors lack in this area). I have been a traditional environment classroom teacher and an online teacher. I personally have taken online classes and I know they can be tricky. I'm here to support you in any way and truly enjoy helping others succeed.
Please feel free to contact me via email at any time day or night. I am pretty quick to respond :)

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
