My name is Kim and I have been a tutor off and on for 10 years. I love working with young people and showing them that they really are smart. Many times, students just haven't been taught in a way that they can understand; that's where I come in! I have worked as a private tutor and at a high school with all grade levels, K-12 all the way through GRE prep. I am passionate about helping others and love when a student succeeds. I attended San Diego State University and majored in engineering.
I enjoy working with all students, those who want to get ahead, those who need clarification and those who have no idea where to start and are completely lost. Nowadays everything is so fast paced and rushed but with learning that doesn't always work. You need time to fully understand and comprehend what you are doing and I can help with that on all levels. I hope to work with you soon! My name is Kim and I have been a tutor off and on for 10 years. I love working with young people and showing them that they really are smart. I am thankful Kimberly was available with only one day notice, since another tutor had to cancel at the last hour, due to illness. My 7th grade daughter really liked Kimberly, and her teaching style. My daughter feels a lot more confidence in math, after just one session with Kimberly.
Thanks April! Glad it went well for her :)
I have never been great at math and with my college Algebra Final approaching for a short term class I was taking, I needed help fast. Kimberly was a very patient tutor and really took her time to make sure I understood all the problems. She really helped me to make sense of the different formulas and taught me clever methods to help me remember them. Thanks to her help, I not only passed the final but I scored a B in the class which I never thought was possible for me with regards to math.
Thanks Rachel! Happy to help where I can :)
Kimberly took her time and made sure my daughter understood every step of the subjects. My daughter was very happy to have Kimberly as her tutor.
Kim was very helpful and empathetic toward my learning disabilities . She was the first tutor (in my experience) who explained everything clearly without confusing or getting materials mixed up.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
