Tien is extremely responsive and made himself immediately available to assist me with my college algebra class! He is very knowledgeable and was able to clearly explain the concepts to me. He was very patient with me! By taking a step-by-step approach, he helped me to better understand the problems. He also helped me to work through the concepts to identify my areas of weakness. My ability to work independently and my confidence in algebra are greatly improved after my first session!

Tien is an excellent tutor, patient and knowledgeable. He has been helping our son for advanced college-level math. He uses the tutoring time efficiently, making sure key concepts are well understood. Outstanding tutor.

Math:

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Linear algebra is the branch of mathematics concerning vector spaces and linear mappings between such spaces. Such an investigation is initially motivated by a system of linear equations containing unknowns. Such equations are naturally represented using the formalism of matrices and vectors. Linear algebra is central to both pure and applied mathematics. Being a third year math graduate student, a teaching assistant, and researching assistant, I am good at linear algebra. Moreover, I passed the written qualifying exam for PhD requirement two years ago, and linear algebra is one of topics of the exam.
