I graduated from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and went on to complete a Master of Arts in Secondary Education, also at Quinnipiac. During graduate school, I completed a year-long internship at a local high school and student taught 10th and 12th grade English classes.

I watched with a sense of gratification as students became excited about topics and works of literature as a result of creative projects I assigned. I saw students improve their grades simply because they developed passion for a certain text or subject covered in class. Currently, I work as an assistant teacher in a language arts classroom for students with special needs. I am extremely passionate about literature and language and love to work with students both one on one and in class settings. My passion for both English and Education allows me to help students grasp difficult concepts and become critical thinkers and learners. I am a certified English teacher. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
