B.S. University of California, Irvine (Biological Sciences)
I graduated from UCIrvine recently, where I was a tutor for two years in various subjects, such as physics, organic chemistry, and general chemistry. The program I was tutoring for received 300-400 applications per year, in which 30 were chosen. Through the program, I tutored 40 college students per quarter, and have helped many students reach their goals, build their confidence, and (some) fall in love with the subject they once hated! Additionally, before being a tutor in college, I tutored local high school students in math (up to Calculus) and biology.
In college I was split between engineering and biology because I love math, yet I'm also incredibly curious about the human body. In the end, biology won out and I received my BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. I am currently in the medical school admissions process. However, math is still one of my favorite subjects to learn and to teach. I used to do private tutoring for Algebra 1 and 2, Precalculus, Calculus and SAT/ACT Math. In college, I tutored for physics, and general/organic chemistry, as well as biology. I'm extremely confident in the subjects I choose to tutor, and after tutoring for 6 years, I feel I have a great grasp on how to teach and which areas to focus on in the subjects I tutor.
I'm applying to medical school at the moment, and am excited to help students from elementary to college reach their goals and their full potential in their studies! Schedule a lesson and let's start studying! I graduated from UCIrvine recently, where I was a tutor for two years in various subjects, such as physics, organic chemistry, and general chemistry.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
