I'm Marjorie. I graduated cum laude from Biola University with a BA in History and a Minor in Biblical Studies. I continued my education by pursuing my Masters at King's College London where I graduated with my MA in Christianity and the Arts. I always enjoyed the classes where teachers and professors spent time learning together rather than just experiencing lectures and I strive to emulate that philosophy of education that whenever possible. My goal as a tutor is to aid you in discovering your potential and to come alongside you as you explore yourself and your educational pursuits.
I have over two years teaching experience, primarily at the early childhood level, but I have assisted my elementary aged nieces and nephews with various projects and homework help over the last three years. I love teaching because I truly enjoy helping students to unlock their potential and grow both personally and in academics.
I have a minor in Biblical Studies from Biola University which has given me a solid foundation in the subject. I have grown up going to church, attending Bible Studies, and discussing Biblical topics in day-to-day life. I am a Sunday School teacher and regularly prepare and teach Biblical lessons for groups of students ages 3-6. Such lessons and tutoring abilities can easily be adapted to teach at higher levels.
I have a Masters in Christianity and the Arts. This course in many ways combined Art History and Theology, with a specific focus on the religious art produced during the Medieval and Renaissance eras. I wrote both my undergraduate and Master's theses on the theology of art during the Reformation era. My studies and subsequent research have given me a solid foundation into the major players and background of Medieval, Renaissance, and Reformation Art History.
My minor in Biblical Studies and my MA in Christianity and the Arts have given me a good foundation to teach Religious Studies, specifically Judeo-Christian. For the past two years I have run the Early Childhood Ministry at my church
