My goal is to develop a complete musician focusing on what each student needs based on their progression. My method is applicable to all styles, not limited to memorizing ”licks or phrases” but acquiring the knowledge to create their own phrases leading to a more complete expression of ones self through the instrument.
Lessons include both theory and practical studies including chord scales, approach patterns, arpeggios, sight-reading, ear training, playing solo or with an ensemble and much more. These skills are introduced gradually as the student is ready to absorb new material. It is very important to note that while there is a certain amount of work and study necessary when learning an instrument, it should always remain a “fun” thing to do.
If you are interested in improving your musical skills or just starting out please contact Rich and we will get you started toward reaching your goals. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
