My name is Lindsay and I am a fourth year English and Film student at UCLA. I am a passionate learner, traveler and writer with an interest in helping others explore their voice, whether as a writer or Italian speaker.
Though English Literature and Italian are both focuses for me academically, they are without a doubt my greatest recreational passions. Since high school I have been dedicated to self educating myself outside of school on both subjects, and I find that this passion makes me a resourceful, engaging and personable teacher.
I tutored at an SAT and ACT facility in Orange County for two years in subjects across the spectrum, but most enjoyed language and literature. Having worked with many students and parents, I'm confident in my flexibility both as a teacher and coordinator.
I studied Italian for a year at UCLA then studied Italian History in Rome for 4 months, during which Italian completely enveloped my daily life. I approach the language with strong passion and respect - having been groomed by the Romans, I feel confident in my ability to teaching Italian with a sense of fun and enjoyment. Though not a native speaker, this language has become a part of me; I am conversationally fluent and fully knowledgeable about all verb tenses as well as vocabulary and grammar on a large scale. Truly, from elementary school speakers to those in the college beginner to intermediate levels, it would be a joy to work with you and share this passion of mine!
As an English Major from UCLA I have a very extensive background in essay writing, reading and critical thinking. I am passionate about essay writing in particular, both academically and otherwise - having been the Editor in Chief of my high school newspaper as well as a reporter for the OC Times and the Daily Bruin at UCLA, I have both the skill and patience for editing and revision. I also aspire to write professionally, and have roots in various kinds of editing, journalism, and creative writing. Ultimately this is my passion, and I would love to help other's find their writing voice, wherever it may lie!
If you are looking for a personable, passionate and knowledgeable learning companion, please contact me and I'd be glad to arrange a time to meet. Hello!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
