About Anna

I have performed extensively as soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. I have appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras in Korea, Europe, Japan, and more recently in US, and have served as a director of the Orange County Chamber Ensemble for several years. And I have performed as a principal violist with Seoul National Symphony Orchestra, Orange County Chamber Ensemble, and Southern California Chamber Orchestra. I have also appeared as guest principal violist with LA Korean Philharmonic Orchestra and California Central Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to being an active performer, I have established myself as an educator and have been teaching students.

I have over 20 years of experience in teaching viola and violin students of all ages and levels. And I have knowledge of Piano and Music Theory as well. I have served for 7 years as the string instructor of an amateur orchestra at Seoul Women's University in Korea. Also I have been a member of MTAC (Music Teachers' Association of California) since 2005. Besides my teaching career, I have served as chair of contemporary flare festival and swv competition, and currently serve as string chair as well as first vice president of South Coast Branch, MTAC.

I minored in piano at undergraduate School, Han-Yang university in Korea. I started playing piano when I was 5 years old, and my musical basics were built up through learning piano. I have been teaching piano students of level between beginner and Intermediate. In order to make better progress learning piano, I focus on what students need because each student has different learning style and goal.

I want to provide students with the opportunity to do and achieve anything they desire with music and become well-rounded musicians. My goal is to enable students to make music independently and become self-sufficient learners. As a result, students can enjoy music for their own playing and/or choose to become professional musicians.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
