AP physics, chemistry and math tutor
I have been around instructors for my entire life. My mother was a general tutor for the neighborhood and I helped her when our small apartment was stuffed with children and textbooks, writing, reading and aiding them with math after my own homework was done. I have been around instructors for my entire life. My mother was a general tutor for the neighborhood and I helped her when our small apartment was stuffed with children and textbooks, writing, reading and aiding them with math after my own homework was done. Much later, I found a paying job at a small tutoring center. There, I mainly tutored physics and, tutoring many students working on the same subject, I was able to teach the same concepts over and over. As a result, the explanations were refined and it showed. My students would all experience an improvement in their letter grade.
The physical sciences are difficult. I was fortunate enough to have a good high school chemistry teacher, and college chemistry was less painful. Again, while taking physics, a particularly good TA provided me with an 'aha' moment which made rest of physics understandable and, I must admit, fun.
It comes down to problem solving strategies. For converting between units in Chemistry, I was taught the railroad method. That alone has gotten me through most of the chemistry problems I have encountered since. Setting up ratios and playing with equations similarly provided me with a smooth journey through physics.
Inextricably linked to these science courses is math. Mathematical thinking requires a lot of practice to develop but the return is very high. I've helped students navigate through algebra, geometry, pre-calculus and calculus. It still amazes me how one example can be the difference between confusion and understanding.
Whether it's science or math, there are many ways to solve problems. But you only need a few to be successful. (And of course the corresponding practice!) Contact me. I would love to be the person to provide you with an 'aha' moment.

Very knowledgeable and efficient tutor!
Jason is a genuine top 10 tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable and makes the most challenging subject "Algebra" learnable. Jason has proven to be very patient and can adapt to a child's individual learning style. Algebra was the most challenging subject for my son and now it is a subject he understands well. Jason is an excellent tutor and we will now keep throughout the next school year as well. Thank you so much Jason!Cameon, 19 lessons with Jason
