Hello! My name is Mickey. I am Japanese and love to teach the Japanese language to people who are interested in learning in a fun atmosphere.
I have been working as a translator at many Japanese companies. I like to communicate for local people and Japanese people. My approach for teaching Japanese is related to Japanese culture and customs because I want to teach not only language but also Japanese culture. I graduated from a college in Tokyo, Japan. I used to work at Toyota Motor Corporation, Europe Dev. in Tokyo and a travel agency in Tokyo. I traveled to many countries all over the world then.
I am very positive and cheerful. If I have a chance to teach my mother tongue, I am lucky! I have time in the morning weekday and Saturday. Let's meet at a cafe in Irvine area. See you soon! Hello! In our first session with Mickey, she was very encouraging and helpful. She asked a lot of questions so we can start developing a plan that will help us accomplish our goals in learning the language over the next six months. I look forward to more sessions and practice with conversation and comprehension, pronunciation, sentence structure, hiragana/katakana, Japanese culture, and travel tips! I am grateful that she is willing to take on two students who want to learn together. :)
We figured out where I am in terms of level. We went over grammar and sentence structure. I was told what I need to focus on in order to excel further.
My son loves learning from Mickey. She is fun and patient. He enjoys his lessons very much and is learning a lot.
Thank you so much, Kari. I am enjoying teaching Japanese language and culture to your son. He is a very smart boy!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
